Pink Mist at Bristol Old Vic

pink mist old vic1st – 11th July 2015, 7.30pm, 2.30pm (Thursday 9th & Saturday 11th July matinees)

Pink Mist tells the story of three young Bristol men deployed to Afghanistan. Returning to the women in their lives who must now share the physical and psychological aftershocks of their service, Arthur, Hads and Taff find their journey home is their greatest battle.

Familiar and unexpected locations are embedded within this truly Bristolian story from the Clifton Suspension Bridge and Thekla to Dundry Hill. Inspired by 30 interviews with returned servicemen, Owen Sheers’ Pink Mist brings the city to life through the eyes of these three boys on their path to recovery.

The Theatre will be transformed into an intimate performance space that will bring the stage to you for this powerful drama directed by John Retallack with new Associate Director, George Mann.

Breathtaking, unforgettable… With the humanity of a Wilfred Owen, Sheers brings the pity of the far Afghan war into our own mind’s neighbourhood.” – DANNIE ABSE, CBE
